# Zulma credits: how you earn them and how they apply

> How Zulma credits are earned through membership cashback, quarterly household credit, and goodwill, and how they apply automatically to your bookings.

Zulma credits are a balance on your account that reduces the total you pay at checkout. You earn them through membership cashback, your quarterly household credit, and goodwill adjustments when something needs making right. Here is how they work.

## How you earn credits

<CardGroup cols={2}>
  <Card title="Membership cashback" href="/memberships/plans-and-perks">
    Zulma+ earns +2% back as credit on every booking. Zulma Household earns +3%. Cashback lands on your account automatically after each completed clean.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Quarterly household credit" href="/memberships/plans-and-perks">
    Zulma Household includes a \$50 household credit every quarter, added straight to your balance to spend on any booking.
  </Card>
</CardGroup>

Credits also show up as a **goodwill adjustment** when we make something right. If a clean falls short, our first remedy is a re-clean or a Zulma credit, applied to your account rather than refunded to your card. See [Quality and disputes](/account/disputes) for how that works.

<Note>
  Remedies are credits-first. When we resolve an issue in your favour, the value goes to your Zulma credit balance to use on a future booking, not back to your card. A pre-service hold that was never captured is simply released, never charged.
</Note>

## How credits are applied

Credits apply automatically at checkout. You do not need to enter or activate anything. Zulma uses the oldest credit first, so credits closer to expiry are always spent before newer ones.

Each credit carries its own expiry date, typically between 6 and 12 months from when it was issued. Unused credits stay on your account until they expire.

<Note>
  Credits reduce your booking total at checkout. Any remaining balance after credits are applied is charged to your saved card. Zulma is not charging sales tax during launch, so your price is all-in.
</Note>

Credits cannot be transferred to another account or converted to cash.

## Viewing your balance

Go to **Account → Credits** to see:

* Your current credit balance
* A full history of credits earned, credits spent, and credits that have expired

Each entry in your history shows the source, amount, and expiry date of that credit.

## Promo codes

Have a promo code? Enter it at checkout during the booking confirmation step, and the value applies to that booking right away.

<Tip>
  The fastest way to grow your balance is a membership. Zulma+ and Zulma Household earn cashback as credit on every clean, and Household adds a \$50 credit each quarter. See [Plans and perks](/memberships/plans-and-perks).
