# Commercial contracts & terms

> Zulma commercial contract terms, length discounts, how to switch tiers, and the notice and early-termination rules if you need to end early.

A Zulma commercial contract is meant to be flexible. Pick the term that fits, change your service as your needs change, and end on clear terms if you ever need to. No fine-print surprises. Here's exactly how it works.

  Zulma isn't charging sales tax during launch. Your commercial pricing is all-in, so the number you agree to is the number you pay.

## Contract terms and length discounts

You choose how long to commit. The longer the term, the bigger the discount on your monthly rate.

| Month-to-month | 0%       |
| 3-month        | 5%       |
| 6-month        | 10%      |
| 12-month       | 15%      |

  Not sure how long to commit? Start month-to-month. You can always move to a longer term later to lock in a bigger discount.

## Changing your service mid-contract

Your needs will shift over time, and your contract should keep up. You can change your **cleaning frequency** or your **service tier** at any point with **14 days' notice**.

    We adjust your monthly rate to the new tier or frequency and prorate the difference for the changeover.

    The change applies within your existing agreement. There's no need to re-sign or restart your term.

<Note>
  Moving up or down a tier doesn't reset your term or your length discount. Your 6-month or 12-month commitment stays exactly where it is.

## Ending a contract

If you need to end your service, the notice you give and any early-termination cost depend on the term you chose. Here's the full picture.

| Term           | Notice          | Early-termination                                             |
| -------------- | --------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Month-to-month | 30 days written | None                                                          |
| 3-month        | 30 days         | 1 month base fee OR 25% of remaining value, whichever is less |
| 6-month        | 30 days         | 1.5 months base OR 25% of remaining, whichever is less        |
| 12-month       | 60 days         | 2 months base OR 25% of remaining, whichever is less          |

A few things worth knowing:

* **Month-to-month has no early-termination cost.** Give 30 days' written notice and you're done.
* On a fixed term, the early-termination figure is always the **lesser** of the two amounts shown, so you never pay more than 25% of what's left.
* Notice is **written**. Email `business@zulma.ca` and we'll confirm your last service date.

  Ending a contract **for cause** carries no early-termination fee. If Zulma isn't holding up its end, you're not penalised for leaving.

## Your deposit comes back as credit

When your service starts, a one-month deposit is held on your card. It is held, not charged.

At the end of your term, if nothing is outstanding, that deposit is **returned to you as Zulma credit**, yours to apply to future cleans. The full mechanics of the deposit and your monthly charge live on the [billing page](/commercial/billing).

  The deposit is a background hold through Stripe. Zulma never sees your full card number, and a hold that's never captured is simply released.
</Note>

## If a clean falls short

Commercial contracts run on the terms above, separate from the residential cancellation rules. If a clean isn't right, tell us and we'll make it right with a re-clean or a Zulma credit. We work credits-first, not cash refunds.
