Becoming a Zulma Pro is a clear, step-by-step process. You apply, verify who you are, and clear a background check to get approved. After that, you add your own insurance and a vulnerable sector police check before your first job, then accept jobs in the Pro app. Zulma is service-agnostic, so the same approval lets you take cleaning, lawn care, and car detailing work.

How it works

1

Apply online

Start your application at app.zulma.ca/signup?role=pro. Tell Zulma about your experience, the Niagara communities you want to serve, and your availability.
2

Verify your identity and pass a background check

Every Pro is identity-verified and cleared through a third-party criminal record check before taking any jobs. This keeps the bar high for everyone on the platform and is what lets customers trust who shows up at their door.
3

Get approved

Approval is based on your identity verification, your profile photo, and your background check. You do not need insurance to get approved.
4

Set up before your first job, then accept jobs

After you’re approved, add your own $2M liability insurance and your vulnerable sector police check, and set up payouts. Once those are on file you start receiving job offers in the Pro app for your area. You see the full payout breakdown before you accept anything, and you can accept or pass on each offer.

What you’ll need

A government-issued ID so Zulma can confirm you are who you say you are.
Zulma runs a third-party criminal record check. You complete this before you can take jobs.
Pros carry their own $2M commercial general liability coverage, provided before your first job. You do not need it to get approved. Zulma also carries $5M commercial general liability at the platform level. See your $2M insurance for what valid coverage shows and how to get it.
Because you work in people’s homes, you provide a vulnerable sector police check from your local police service before your first in-home job. See the police check for where to book it and what it costs.
If you handle cleaning chemicals, you provide WHMIS 2015 certification before your first job. It is a short online course, often free, and the Pro app shows providers. Lawn-only work does not require it. See WHMIS 2015 training.
Payouts run through your connected payout account, powered by Stripe. You set this up during onboarding so you can get paid for completed jobs.

What you keep when you work

You keep 70% of the base, add-ons, and surcharges on every job, plus 100% of any tip. Recurring discounts come out of Zulma’s share, not yours, so you’re paid on the pre-discount amount. You always see the full payout breakdown before you accept a job. For the complete breakdown, see how pay works.
