Why cleaners choose Zulma
Set your own schedule. Toggle online to receive job offers, offline to take a break. There are no quotas, no minimum hours, and no forced dispatches. Transparent pay. You see the full payout — base pay, bonuses, and tips — before you accept any job. This is required under Ontario’s Digital Platform Workers’ Rights Act and is a core Zulma commitment. No surprise deductions, ever. Weekly direct deposit. Funds land in your bank account every Tuesday via Stripe Connect. Track earnings and payouts in real time through the app. Layered protection. You carry your own 40–80/month) for the work you perform. Zulma adds a $5M umbrella policy and a janitorial bond on top — two layers of coverage, so neither you nor your clients are ever left exposed. Build a client base. Customers can favorite you. When a recurring booking runs, the platform prioritizes matching you first, giving you a stable, predictable roster of regulars. First-Year Milestone Bonus. Complete 25 jobs and submit business-expense receipts within your first year for a one-time bonus of up to $900 — recognizing the real investment you’ve made in your independent business. What you can earn

Your contractor status
You are an independent contractor, not a Zulma employee. That means:- You set your own hours and choose which jobs to accept or decline, without penalty.
- You may work for competing services at the same time.
- You may send a qualified substitute (subject to background-check verification).
- You report your income via T4A at year-end. Zulma issues a T4A to every crew member earning $500 or more in a calendar year, summarizing total payouts.
- You are responsible for your own income tax, CPP contributions, and HST registration or remittance if applicable.
